WHAT IS BIM?
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure.
WHY DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BIM?
In 2011 the UK Government Construction Strategy mandated the use of Level 2 BIM on all public sector projects by April 2016. BIM is currently being used by the majority of the major construction companies.
The information provided within these BIM models is integral for construction scheduling and logistical planning as well as the capture of carbon data, cost and potential asset conflicts enabling contractors to efficiently plan the complete construction of a project in a virtual world.
The information is then readily available to any other contractor or client throughout the lifecycle of the building including its final demolition and deconstruction.
WHY IS ANALOX WORKING WITH BIM?
Our carbon dioxide gas detection monitors are already used in 1,000’s of fast food restaurants, stadiums, theatres, shopping malls, kitchens and laboratory and research facilities using CO2 for cell cultivation and preservation.
BIM ready files allows those planning and designing these facilities to ensure gas safety monitors and alarms are built in a as part of the original specification.
